The site is located on approx. 5 acres directly south of Com-Care Medical Facility and one block north of the Penn Campus Hospital.  It is 5 blocks from downtown, 3 blocks from the post office, 5 blocks off Ohio Street, 2 blocks from a pharmacy and Dillon's grocery store.  Other features of the location include gas (Green Lantern and Caseys) and fast food (Burger King, Green Lantern and Caseys) availability within 10 blocks.  The Salina Community Theatre, Salina Art Museum and Art Center Cinema are located downtown within 8 blocks and the Bi-Centennial Center is within 8 blocks.  The YMCA and YWCA are very close as well as downtown Salina with banking, personalized shopping and a wonderful variety of restaurants.  Churches are abundant around the downtown area also.  A small city park is across the street north and Oakdale/Kenwood parks are within 8 blocks.  The Chamber of Commerce, the City and County offices and the Salina Public Library are within 6 blocks.  Local fire protection exists within 6 blocks from this future facility.  In addition, Oakdale Elementary School is being renovated within the area as well as the new Lakewood Middle School.  

In cooperation with the City of Salina, Riverside has proposed a new River Walk that will extend from the new Lakewood Middle School to Founder's Park behind the Community Theater.  This will give our residents walking access to the Theater without being on the streets and allow Middle School children access from school to downtown without being threatened by traffic.  We hope this walk will eventually extend to the Kenwood/Oakdale park area and the YWCA.
